Attack Detection Using an Unknown Input Observer for Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control System

Abstract(in English) Cyber attacks targeting cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) systems have become a serious problem. Some attackers illegally change massages exchanged among vehicles via wireless communication or obstruct wireless communication, which may leads to collision of vehicles. Therefore, it is important to detect such attacks. In this paper, we propose a novel attack detection scheme using an unknown input observer for CACC systems. Through simulation experiments, we show that the proposed scheme can detect correctly several types of attacks.
