Study on Abdominal Fat Thickness Estimation by Multi-Frequency Microwave Measurement

Abstract(in English) Our research group has studied a measurement method of abdominal fat mass using microwaves. In a previous report, simulations using a two-layer cylindrical model with fat and muscle layers were performed, and a fat mass estimation model of a neural network using changes in the S-parameter depending on the fat mass was performed. In this report, numerical human body models with different fat mass generated using the deformation algorithm. The abdominal fat mass was estimated from the S-parameter obtained by simulation at multiple frequencies for each model. This makes it possible to estimate even when targeting a complex shape such as the human body.
