Abstract(in English) | With the increase in uplink speeds and the use of millimeter wave bands, it is required to futher improve the power utilization efficiency of HPA (High Power Amplifier) in mobile terminals, in addition to spectrum efficiency. However, when HPAs are used with low OBO (Output Back Off), ACLP (Adjacent Channel Leakage Power) increases due to tis nonlinear characteristics, resulting in spectrum efficiency degradation. As a solution to solve this problem, the authors have proposed a DPD (Digital Pre-distortion) -based HPA linearizer using pilot signals to estimate and control the operating point of HPA without an auxiliary receiver for DPD control. This report describes performance evaluation of the proposed DPD-based HPA linearizer using the operation point estimation pilot when two HPA models with both AM/AM and AM/PM conversion characteristics are used and shows the operation point estimation performance and ACLP improvement |
