Abstract(in English) | For further the development of the mobile communication systems towards 5G evolution and 6G, broadband transmission using millimeter wave and terahertz band will play an important role to realize enhanced capacity. On the other hand, these higher frequency bands degrade the coverage to non-line-of-sight (NLOS) due to the strong directivity. Therefore, we focus on reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), utilizing coverage enhancement by con- trolling spatial propagation environments. In this paper, we analyze the effect of RIS size in terms of received power via RIS, and propose a phase shift algorithm suitable for near-field users based on Fresnel zone. Finally, we demonstrate the experimental results on coverage enhancement by reflector based on metamaterial and show the effectiveness of RIS-based technology even in real environments. |
