Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the purpose of classifying scrolling strategies in digital reading, this experiment was conducted in which 20 sighted people read aloud sentences with two levels of magnification on an iPad. As a result of cluster analysis of scrolling strategies, two strategies were obtained at each magnification: the Wide Swipe group, which scrolls by pulling the finger on the screen, and the Point Swipe group, which scrolls by frequently releasing the finger. Also, from the post-interview, the scrolling strategies preferred for fast and accurate reading differed in each of the low and high magnification. This is suggesting that there is a scrolling strategy suitable for fast and accurate reading according to the magnification.
