Full-stack visualization of virtual infrastructure for failure impact analysis using time series data

Abstract(in English) Virtual infrastructure, is a basis of the cloud service, provides services by integrating not only compute virtualization but also many management systems such as SDS (Software Defined Storage). In general, it is difficult to understand the relationship between VMs and SDS, etc in the virtual systems deployed by user because management systems have their own dashboards. That is the reason why it is difficult to understand the cause of failures such as performance degradation that occurred during the operation process. In this paper, we propose a system that accumulates configuration information and performance information collected from each management system as time-series data and visualizes the virtual system in full-stack from both aspects of configuration and performance. By visualizing and replaying the failures that occurred at the specified past time with this system, it is possible to support the understanding of the causes of past failures.
