Abstract(in English) In this paper, we focus on rate adaptation for Multi?AP transmissions, which realizes robust wireless LAN (WLAN) data transfer required in a factory environment. When employing a common unicast transmission between STA and its associated AP for WLAN, it is difficult to achieve reliable and robust data transmissions due to dynamic variations of link conditions caused by mobility of STA and noise/interference emitted by surrounding equipment. In order to solve this problem, we employ Multi?AP transmissions, which jointly employs link?level broadcast and packet?level forward error correction (FEC) to exploit the broadcast nature of wireless medium. We introduce a mechanism dynamically controlling physical layer (PHY) rate and FEC rate, and evaluate its performance by computer simulations. In this work, we carry out simulations employing propagation model constructed by a radio propagation simulator considering an actual factory environment, by which we investigate the effectiveness of Multi?AP transmissions and rate control in a practical environment.
