Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, there has been a growing interest in computational thinking (CT) skills.CT skills are computational thinking skills that IT engineers should have.In order to foster CT skills, programming education has been implemented in Japan since the 2020 school year, with the use of Scratch recommended. However, since there is little information about the relationship between Scratch programs and CT skills, it is not easy to provide programming tasks to improve students' CT skills efficiently. Therefore, in order to investigate which tasks are suitable for beginning programming students, we focused on the project genre of Scratch programs and tried to clarify the relationship between them and CT skills. We conducted a cluster analysis of 5,000 programs posted on the Scratch community site. We focused on the clusters with low CT skills and analyzed the characteristics of the corresponding programs. As a result, we found that programs with a high degree of musicianship, such as one that plays sounds, requiring repetitive processing and user input, and using two or three sprites and stages were good challenges.
