Abstract(in English) | In order to develop IT human resources, higher education institutions are offering classes that include programming exercises. However, since the ratio of teachers and TAs to learners is small, it is difficult for teachers to quickly respond tolearners who are stumbling. In this study, we aim to estimate the learner's state by focusing on biometric information and programming behavior in the learner's activity log. By being able to estimate the learner's state, teachers will be able to quickly detect learners who are stumbling and provide them with guidance. For this purpose, we obtained LF/HF and the number of blinks as biometric information and investigated the relationship with stumbling. In addition, we obtained file modification history and compilation history as programming behaviors, and investigated the relationship between them and biometric information in the stumbling state. The results showed that LF/HF and the number of blinks tended to increase in some stumbling conditions. Furthermore, when there was no progress during the coding, the LF/HF fluctuated more in a short period of time and the number of blinks increased. These results indicate that biometric data and programming behavior are useful as indicators to estimate the learner's state during programming. Based on the findings in this study, if it is possible to estimate the learner's state from biometric data and programming behavior, the burden on teachers will reduce and learning efficiency will improve. |
