Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order for developers and maintainers to understand the situation in which their Web applications behaved unexpectedly, it is laborious work for them to comprehensively analyze log files captured from each of Web clients and Web servers. In this paper, we therefore propose a visualization method that combines multiple log files to aid developers and maintainers in analyzing unexpected behavior of a Web application. The proposed method focuses on the behaviors of requests, responses, and file accesses that frequently occur in Web applications, and visualizes the interactions between Web clients and Web servers as sequence diagrams. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we applied the proposed method to log files of unexpected behavior caused by a configuration defect of a Web server.
