Abstract(in English) Dental panoramic radiographs may show calcified areas that are a sign of vascular disease. Finding these areas in dentistry encourages medical examinations and prevents the sudden onset of vascular disease. Therefore, some automatic detection methods for calcified regions have been proposed, and among them, a method using an object detector based deep learning has been proposed. Although false positives are significantly reduced, the accuracy is not sufficient. Therefore, we propose a method for estimating the position of a calcified region using semantic segmentation, which has been increasingly applied to medical image processing in recent years. The experimental results show that the proposed method improves the detection accuracy.
