Abstract(in English) | Since a computer system’s time deviations can result in system malfunction, time correction technology via IP communication is generally used. Some computers do not have access to the Inernet, so that stand-alone time correction method which does not use a network has been proposed for such devices. In that method, the time drift characteristic, which represents the relationship between the CPU core temperature and the system time deviations, is estimated and used for time correction. However, it is important to improve the accuracy of the estimation of the characteristics in order to further improve the effectiveness of the time correction. In this paper, we reveal that the accuracy of the characteristics estimation can be improved by adjusting the measurement intervals and keeping the CPU core temperature constant. The measurement intervals can be easily adjusted by changing the program, and to keep temperature constant can be achieved by using a thermostatic chamber. In an experiment, we compared the characteristics estimation accuracy with that of the conventional estimation method under room temperature. |
