Abstract(in English) | In recent years, with the rapid increase in the number of public Wi-Fi hotspots, the total power consumption of wireless access point(AP)s would increase. Moreover, as battery-driven portable APs and some terminals with tethering function become widespread and their life time should be prolonged, the power saving of APs is the important issue. In reservation sleep control, APs set network allocation vector (NAV) to enter the sleep state for power saving and send its beacon to station(STA)s periodically to stop their frame transmission. So far, the power saving TCP in STAs with sending data (upload) has been proposed for effectively performing the AP sleep control by the delaying segment transmission scheme without degrading throughput by the additional segment window size control. Thus in this paper, focusing on STAs with receiving data (download) connected to APs on reservation sleep control, we propose the delaying ACK scheme to indirectly control data segment transmission in remote servers/stations and investigate its power-saving performance through simulation. |
