Abstract(in English) | With the practical application of 5th generation mobile communication systems (5G), Internet of Things (IoT), and wireless power transfer (WPT), opportunities of electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure to radio waves from various wireless devices in a wide range of frequencies from low to high frequencies are increasing. Based on these backgrounds, we are conducting research with the main purpose of quantitatively grasping the actual state of EMF exposure in daily life and examining the ideal way of risk communication. This paper describes the measured results of EMF exposure levels from mobile phone base stations, which are one of the main sources of exposure in the general environment, in urban and suburban areas. Furthermore, Comparisons with the radio wave protection guideline values and with the past survey results are conducted. As a result, in this measurement, the electric field strength tended to be higher in the urban than in the suburban areas, but all of them are 30 dB or more lower than the radio wave protection guideline values. Furthermore, despite the increase in radio wave usage compared to in the past, no significant increase in electric field strength is observed. |
