| Abstract(in English) | Hayabusa2 is the second asteroid sample return mission in the world after Hayabusa. The target body is Ryugu, which is a C-type near Earth asteroid, and its main purpose is to obtain information that will lead to the elucidation of the origin of life on Earth by examining organic matter and water at the time of the birth of the solar system. Hayabusa2 was launched in December 2014, successfully completed all the missions, and succeeded in returning the capsule to the earth in December 2020. There were many samples of Ryugu in the capsule. Currently, the works of organizing samples for analysis are underway, and full-scale analysis work is scheduled to begin around June 2021. On the other hand, the spacecraft set out for a new target body. Here, we will introduce the achievements of Hayabusa2 so far. |
