Study on normalized spectral entropy in defect detection of noncontact acoustic inspection

Abstract(in English) Noncontact acoustic inspection method is a non-contact non-destructive manner for remotely detecting and visualizing internal defects in composite materials such as concrete. The target surface is vibrated with sound waves, and data analysis is performed from the two-dimensional vibration velocity distribution measurement with a laser Doppler vibrometer. In order to detect internal defects, we have proposed a method for distinguishing between a healthy part and a defective part using vibrational energy ratio and spectral entropy. However, spectral entropy used in the past is not an absolute value but a relative value, and although it shows the same value under the same measurement conditions, there is a problem that it cannot be directly compared with the values under different measurement conditions. Therefore, we introduced normalized spectral entropy and examined the application condition so that a value can be compared the other in a different measurement condition.
