Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently those who complain of problems such as stiff shoulders and back pain are increasing as the amount of desk works are increasing. In this study we made a controllable air cushion to provide different tactile feedback both when to last bad and good sitting posture. We conducted 2-hours 2 sets of desk work experiments for 10 days to evaluate the possibility of behavioral guidance to make good posture a habit. In order to detect a sitting posture, we built a neural network learning model based on front face image captured from a web camera put on the monitor and pressure sensor data obtained from the pressure sensor sheet installed underneath the seat of a chair. We also made a controllable air cushion to provide four different tactile feedback provided by the amount of filled air in a cushion. We conducted the experiment to evaluate the system in terms of decrease of frequency of bad postures, efficiency of the work and comfortability. We concluded that there was a certain effect of the decrease of frequency of bad postures and positive assessment of improvement of work quality but there was no effect to navigate a short break to bring a good working habit.
