Statistical Channel Estimation Scheme for Helicopter Satellite Communication

Abstract(in English) In helicopter satellite communications, the rotor blades periodically block the communication channel. This periodicchannel blockage significantly degrades the bit error rate performance. Therefore, the channel blockage ratio, defined as the ratioof blockage duration to period, is an important parameter. This report proposes a statistical channel blockage ratio estimationscheme. Results of computer simulation show that the proposed scheme estimates the channel blockage ratio accurately.
