[Invited Talk] Overview and Challenges on Wireless Powered Communications

Abstract(in English) Numerous wireless communication devices will be implemented according to the deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) into various application in future society. Since many of wireless devices are operated with limited power source such as battery, operating lifetime of the wireless device is limited by the battery capacity. To overcome this limitation, wireless powered communication with RF energy harvesting (RF-EH) has been paid attention as a promising solution because additional energy can be charged from ambient radio wave with minimum additional parts in wireless devices. In this talk, overview of wireless powered communications and some of our recent research results are presented. Also, research challenges on wireless powered communication for IoT application are described.
