Abstract(in English) | We have been manufacturing a wearable respiration measuring instrument, which is composed by a permanent magnet and magnetic sensor. In this study, the measuring instrument and an air flow sensor, which is generally used for measuring respiration during sleep, were attached to a subject to measure respiration during sleep to verify whether respiration during sleep can be measured. It was found that the instrument could stably measure respiration over a time period of not less than 80% of sleeping time. In addition, temporary suspension of respiratory effort and changes in respiratory cycles that depend on sleep-wake stage could also be detected by the instrument. These results strongly suggest that our respiration measuring instrument is suitable for recording of respiration during sleep. |
