| Abstract(in English) | Video conferencing has become widespread because of the evolution of high-efficiency compression technologies for high definition video such as 2K/4K, and high-speed mobile communication technologies such as 5G. In addition, video conferencing is also expected as a smooth working and education from home against outbreaks like COVID-19 that shook the world-wide countries in 2020. For this reason, the video conferencing services such as Web conferencing are expected to not only provide video and audio transmission but also will yield a new value and improve productivity by digital transformation (DX), which could not be obtained by face-to-face conferencing, e.g., seamless contents co-editing and sharing, automatic generation of conference minutes by voice recognition, machine translation into other languages, and the transmission of emotions for activating discussions. This paper introduces the latest trends of DX of video conferencing using public cloud and AI technologies. In addition, we also present latest trends of network technologies for enhancing the DX of video conferencing by using software defined network (SDN) and multi-access edge computing. |
