Abstract(in English) | To realize a smart home that can effectively watch over residents and control energy consumption, the technology for recognizing residents' daily activities at home is indispensable. Existing studies on estimation of living behavior have proposed the recognition methods using various sensors such as cameras, microphones, and ultrasonic sensors. However, the existing methods have problems of privacy due to the use of cameras, and installation cost due to the need a large number of sensors. In this study, we develop a new behavioral observation system that estimates daily activities by placing smart taps supporting wireless communication in on various places at home. The smart tap is equipped with power strip for measuring and analyzing the power consumption of connected devices, and the measures radio wave conditions between the nodes. By using measurement results of the power consumption of appliances and the received radio wave strength of the wireless communication, the proposed system achieves accurate behavioral estimation with no privacy issues and low installation cost. |
