Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There are not sufficient evidences to explain the mechanism of eye damages caused by millimeter-wave electromagnetic (EM) fields exposure. One of the knowledges which have not sufficiently investigated is the effects on the eye damage threshold depending on the ambient temperature. It is important to investigate the safety of tissues on the surface of body such as ocular tissue, because the power of extremely high frequency EM fields, i.e. millimeter-waves, is mostly absorbed into the body surface. In this study, the coupling analysis for the electromagnetic field and heat transport is performed to obtain response of temperature elevation caused by power absorptions into the cornea of rabbit eyes under the exposure to 60 GHz electromagnetic fields depending on the differences for ambient temperatures and for EM power densities with numerical simulation by using numeric eye model of the rabbit eye.
