Evaluation of routing protocol for DANET with Considering cooperative control between Drones

Abstract(in English) Unmanned aerial vehicles, such as drones, are used for a variety of purposes. At present, in most of case, drones and operating terminals communicate one-to-one directly. So when the data such as video is distributed from a drone, the destination is limited to within the direct radio wave range of the drone. The DANET which consisted of drones is being considered as a way of distributing data from areas where direct communication is not reachable. However, existing MANET protocols do not always provide sufficient performance in DANET due to the flight characteristics of drones. To constructing a more reliable DANET, we have proposed iFORP-3DD, which introduces a cooperative function of relay terminals to the existing MANET protocol iFORP. In this paper, we propose a new cooperative behavior method that determines the duration of the cooperative behavior based on the number of neighboring terminals and a new route selection method that considers the availability information of the cooperative to improve the performance of iFORP-3DD. We describe the proposed methods and their evaluation results by simulation.
