A Study on Large-Scaled Signal Processing for Diversity Receptions in GNSS Positioning

Abstract(in English) High-precision point positioning technology using GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) enables localization in the sub-meter or centimeter accuracy. On the other hand, there are problems in accuracy and reliability in multipath environments such as urban areas as well as mountainous areas. Positioning accuracy deteriorates due to the influence of obstacles between satellites and receivers in user equipment, for example, buildings and trees. The obstacles reduce the number of satellites in line-of-sight by blocking direct waves from satellites and cause multipath such as reflection and diffraction of direct waves from satellites. To address these issues, this paper proposes multi-dimensional signal processing for diversity receptions with the aid of multiple receivers for improving position estimation accuracy. The price of GNSS receiver has been reduced in re-cent years, so the installation of multiple receivers will be reasonable. In addition, we discuss the validity of the data selection criteria of satellite observations.
