High-performance Network Sharing and Isolation on Edge Computing

Abstract(in English) Edge Computing provide low-latency and high-bandwidth services on edge of networks such as base stations or local data centers on mobile networks. Edge Computing platforms needs to host multiple services operated by different service providers, therefore, the platform must to isolate between the services for avoiding attacks and wasting resources. In this paper, we analyze security risks with resource sharing on edge computing platforms. As a result, we found difficulties for resource sharing with kernel bypassing networking technologies such as Intel Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK). We describe the problems and countermeasures based on existing networking and OS technologies.
