Abstract(in English) Various all-optical modulation format conversions have been proposed for realizing low latency and efficient connection of networks in which different modulation formats are used. We have proposed an all-optical PAM4/16QAM modulation format conversion using a nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) for connecting data center networks. In this paper, we numerically investigate the spectral efficiency and transmission characteristics of the 16QAM signal generated by the all-optical modulation format converter.
