Abstract(in English) | Recently, plasmonic waveguides are expected for compactness of optical integrated circuits in optical communication. We describe the design method of a long-wavelength-pass filter in a plasmonic waveguide with Metal-Insulator-Metal (MIM) structure, and show the improvement of filter characteristics using the steepest descent method. Next, we show the difference of an effective index in two- and three-dimensional analyses, and confirm that the three-dimensional analysis is needed. Finally, we compare filter characteristics in transmission-line, two- and three-dimensional analyses. We demonstrate that, in the three-dimensional analysis, the numerical results are different from those of the two-dimensional analysis in a specified thickness of the MIM structure, and desired wavelength characteristics are obtained. |
