Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | A goal of this talk is to provide the audience with the knowledge about how the presenter's research experiences and footprints have been evolved, and how they are connected, from Turbo equalization to Lossy Forward (LF) wireless relay systems and the Lossless/Lossy Distributed Source Coding techniques for correlated sources, all in wireless communications networks. This talk further expands the LF techniques to Lossy case where a certain level of End-to-End distortion is accepted. This is in the scope that the objective of Internet-of-Things (IoT) is not to reproduce the original observations losslessly at the center, but to make correct judgement on some critical issues, and hence point-to-point communication does not have to be lossless. Finally, it is presented that how the CEO problem and the Distributed Hypothesis Testing problem which recently has attracted a lot of research interest are connected. |
