Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A multimode interference-based spectral encoder is proposed to realize minimally invasive imaging of the nerve cells in the deep brain. The encoder was fabricated by splicing short multi-mode fiber to single-mode transmission fiber. When the fluorescence from the target object was spectroscopically measured via an encoder, a fluorescence spectrum dependent on the fluorescence image was observed. It was confirmed that the fluorescence image can be reconstructed from the obtained fluorescence spectrum.
