Validity of vectorial electromagnetic field analysis for circularly-distributed n-core optical fibers

Abstract(in English) Validity of group-theory adapted point-matching method for electromagnetic fields analysis of vectorial mode in circularly distributed $n$-core fiber structures is studied. The accuracy of the boundary conditions for electromagnetic field components is examined in terms of normalized mean-square error of boundary conditions for various fiber structures and frequency characteristics. The electromagnetic field components of the vectorial mode are found to be analyzed with high accuracy with the small number of matching points for the case of smaller core distance in which a larger perturbation ofthe field distribution from a single-core fiber structure is expected.
