[Invited Lecture] Video Streaming Quality Estimation and Control Techniques

Abstract(in English) Video streaming services have spread widely and videos have been watched by mobile terminals inaddition to TV sets. In addition, 4K-UHD (Ultra High Definition) and VR (Virtual Reality) videos are provideddue to the extension of fixed and mobile bandwidth. However, since QoS (Quality of Service) is degraded due tothe congestion in the beset-effort-based communication services, QoE (Quality of Experience) is often degraded. Toprevent the degradation of service quality and the decrease of viewing time, OTT (Over The Top) try to incorporatetechniques that improve the quality. In this paper, quality-estimation and quality-control techniques are described, which supports the evolution of video streaming services, and future work is described.
