Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Nowadays, developments of indoor positioning systems (IPS) have been gaining a lot of interests for offering location-based services. Previously, we have studied a fingerprint-based indoor positioning system using the IEEE 802.15.4 standard that is suitable for long-time use with a small battery due to small energy consumptions limiting the positioning resolution by rooms, it can detect the current position accurately. However, this system was not implemented for real-time use, where only the feasibility has been examined. In this paper, we present an implementation of the system using Python programs. It consists of a server PC that collects and stores the data, and runs the positioning program periodically, Mono Wireless transmitters/receivers, and Raspberry Pi devices that forward the received data to the server using the MQTT protocol. The experiment results in #2 Engineering Building at Okayama University show that the user locating room is always correctly detected by the system on time.
