Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we developed two systems that can easily, quickly, and simultaneously test differences in both hue and brightness vision using a PC monitor. Twenty-five normal subjects and 31 patients with muscular dystrophy who had high rates of color vision deficiencies were examined using the systems, and the results compared with the Ishihara test (Ishihara Color Vision Test II)?detection rates were found to be 12.9% (Test I) and 15.4% (Test II) better. The overall system consists of movable components, meaning that it could be used to detect other diseases and complex acquired color vision deficiencies in more patients by allowing examination in a wheelchair or in a supine position in a hospital bed.
