A study on joint optimization of control input and communication scheduling in IEEE 802.15.4 network

Abstract(in English) When applying IEEE 802.15.4 beacon mode into the wireless networked control system (WNCS) with multiple? plants, individual plants need to utilize neither CAP or CFP for establishing communication network between the controller and end-device (plant). For realizing a reliable WNCS, it is important to make an efficient resource allocation, i.e., scheduling,. A joint optimization of control-input and scheduling based on MPC have been proposed. However, it does not consider the scheduling in CFP. This study proposes a joint optimization of control-input and scheduling in CFP as well as CAP. The computational burden for the optimization of the proposed system exponentially increases in proportion to the number of plants and predictive horizon. To mitigate this disadvantages, we further propose the optimization with less computational complexity. Computer simulations show that the proposed joint optimization can significantly enhance the quality of control and the optimization with less computational optimization has slightly less performance compared to the optimization with a brute force approach but can significantly reduce the computational complexity.
