Abstract(in English) | We study the low-density parity-check (LDPC) coding and iterative decoding system by signal processing for the shingled magnetic recording (SMR) in two-dimensional magnetic recording (TDMR). In our previous research, we have reported waveform equalization using a two-dimensional finite impulse response (TD-FIR) filter and an inter-track interference (ITI) canceler and showed reducing the influence of ITI. In this paper, we propose a neural network detector with the functions of waveform equalization and iterative decoding. The neural network detector calculates the log-likelihood ratio (LLR) as the decoding reliability to pass the SP decoder for iterative decoding by the three reproduced waveforms from the decoding target track and the adjacent tracks, and the replica of the reproduced waveform from the decoding target track estimated from the returned sum-product (SP) decoder output sequence. Furthermore, we compare the iterative decoding using a neural network detector with that using TD-FIR filter and a posteriori probability (APP) decoder. |
