Dynamic TDD Allocation via Fractional Programming for Cell-Free Massive MIMO Systems

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we consider a user-centric spacial resource management problem for cell-free massive MIMO architectures with the dynamic TDD access protocol. In order to solve this challenging issue, we propose a joint access point switching and beamforming design aiming at maximizing the system throughput, which is enabled by means of fractional programming and an entropy regularizer. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed scheme flexibly acts as a compromise between fully uplink and downlink TDD systems, outperforming the latter two conventional approaches.
