A Study on Queue Area Detection Using Person Recognition and Tracking

Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to realize the measurement of the number of people in the queue by proposing a method for detecting the person's queue area from an arbitrarily installed fixed camera video using person recognition and tracking. Previously, when measuring the number of people in the queue from the video, a method for counting all the people in the camera region has already been proposed. However, since this method treats passersby around the queue as person in the queue, the number of waiting people is erroneously added. In this study, we propose a method for measuring the number of waiting person in a queue to reduce erroneous addition by remove the passersby around the queue using person recognition and tracking. The effectiveness of the proposed method was confirmed by a comparative experiment with the conventional method using video from an actual fixed camera.
