Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Earprint recognition is one of biometrics and identifies personal earprints, which are marks pressed by person’s ears on a flat surface. Earprints can mainly be found at crime scenes because culprits try to listen to some noise in a neighboring room by their ear to confirm whether somebody is in the room or not. So, the police take earprints from crime scenes and treat as evidence. However, accuracy of earprint recognition are usually lower because of the intra-individual variation of earprints. The purpose of this study is to develop the earprint device which synchronize taking earprint images and measuring the pressing force by ear simultaneously.
