Demonstration of Sub-millisecond High-Reliability Wavelength Switching at DFB-LD with Current/Temperature Cooperative Control

Abstract(in English) In order to realize a high-speed high-reliability optical switch for network systems, we have been studying an optical switch consisting of tunable lasers and an arrayed waveguide grating. The DFB laser, one of the tunable semiconductor lasers, can realize high-speed wavelength switching by changing the injected current. Previously, we achieved a high-reliable wavelength switching by using a current/temperature cooperative control method. In this paper, to realize a higher-speed wavelength switching, we applied a nonlinear laser model to a feedforward control. We demonstrated a 150-GHz-wide wavelength switching with a switching time of 560?s.
