Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper focuses on spectrum sensing and spectrum measurement exploiting an energy detector. In this case, an noise power estimation with high accuracy and low cost is required to set a proper detection threshold. Therefore, this paper investigates a noise power estimation based on goodness of fit measure between received power samples and guessed quantile functions with noise power estimate candidates. Specifically, we apply the squared error between the received power samples and the guessed quantile functions as a goodness of fit measure. And, we propose a noise power estimation method which adopts a noise power estimate candidate with the least squared error. Extensive numerical evaluations show that the proposed method can achieve outstanding noise power estimation performance over a wide SNR region than the FCME (Forward Consecutive Mean Excision) method, and it has very small computational complexity than the least square method between the empirical distribution and the guessed cumulative distribution.
