Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Many Low Power Wide Area(LPWA) use the star topology where a gateway and a terminal communicate directly with each other, so the location of gateways have a large impact on the network performance. In particular, the effect is more significant when there are multiple gateways. Due to these features, various studies have been conducted on the gateway placement in LPWA. However, the performance of the LPWA network could be seriously decreased depending on the number and location of the interfering system terminals because existing studies do not consider interference from outside of the LPWA system in the gateway placement. Therefore, this paper focuses on Long Range Wide-Area Network(LoRaWAN), which is an open standard LPWA, and proposes an algorithm to determine the number and location of LPWA gateways according to the desired packet loss rate considering the interference from the outside system. The proposed method estimates the packet collision probability at an arbitrary location by observing the interference signal for a certain period of time. In order to assess the effectiveness of the proposed method, the packet loss rate was evaluated by computer simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed method guarantees the desired packet loss rate compared to the fixed location method. |
