[Poster Presentation] Drone Detection Accuracy for Visible Light Communication with Drone-Mounted LED and Camera

Abstract(in English) The technology of on-demand communication networks using drones has drawn attention. A promising application scenario is real-time monitoring of disaster areas. Visible Light Communication (VLC) using drone mounted LED lights and an image sensor of a camera is expected to be a strong option as low-cost communication. However, in the case of one-to-many communication, where a single camera receives signals from multiple drone mounted LEDs, the loss of detection accuracy due to inter-link interference is a significant issue. In this work, we propose a clarification of the constraints and a drone placement algorithm to avoid inter-link interference between VLC links. We report the results of verification by simulation and a simple demonstration experiment using actual machines.
