Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The traffic of wireless communication systems has greatly increased due to the expansion of smartphones and IoT. Visible light wireless communications with LED lighting have been researched to meet such increase. This paper evaluates spatially parallel signal transmission with a lot of LED lighting and photodetectors installed in the same place to expand signal transmission bandwidth in LED visible light communications. Transmission performance of each photodetector is evaluated according to LED lighting and photodetector arrangement, and the number of simultaneously receivable signal streams is estimated based on the evaluation results. In the estimation, square-shaped 25 LEDs with 1 m intervals are arranged within an evaluation area of 5 m square, and 9 photodetectors installed at the same place receive their light to realize spatially parallel signal transmission. The number of receivable signal streams is counted by desired-to-undesired signal power ratios of the evaluation points, where the LED with the strongest light is a desired one, and the other LEDs are undesired ones. The results show that 2 or more signal streams can be received at 97 % evaluation points by appropriately setting the angles among photodetectors according to the set LED lighting interval.
