Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The aim of this study was to investigate associations between types of musical training for children and coordination in musical ensembles. Thus, by focusing on typical forms of lessons for children, namely, group versus private lessons, we examined asynchrony between children and the adult accompanist during ensemble performances. In the experiment, children who took group lessons and private lessons respectively played piano duo performances with the accompanist multiple times. Subsequently, we measured the asynchronies of the sounds between children and the accompanist. The results showed that the children who took the group lessons were able to play with fewer mistakes from the first trial of the performances. However, regardless of types of lessons, we obtained no difference of asynchronies from the accompanist in terms of time series variation. |
