Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Portable dilute-gas-molecule-density measurement systems are bases for monitoring environmental load-gas densities in industrial areas. So are they for health-care diagnostics done by analyzing patient’s breath-gas samples. In this work, we propose a gas-molecule-sensing scheme in which a pair of 174-GHz-separated comb-lines generated by 10.390-GHz-repetition mode-locked light source crosses an acetylene-molecule’s counterpart pair of 174-GHz-separated absorption lines located near optical frequency 195 THz (wavelength 1540 nm). In fact, we detected smooth resonance curves of this pair of optical absorption lines (each of whose widths was about 600 MHz) by precisely detuning all of this input comb’s optical-frequency positions near 195 THz by amount of delta 2 GHz, by which we demonstrated high specificity of this molecule-sensing scheme.
