Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) MQTT has attracted much interest in Internet of Things (IoT) field, owing to its light-weight protocol design and the benefit of loose coupling. In 2019, OASIS released MQTT Version 5.0, which was after five years since the previous version 3.1.1 was released. The new protocol specification includes various functional extensions such as supporting load distribution and request-response pattern communication. In this presentation, as well as we give an overview of MQTT protocol and the new features of Version 5.0, the result of performance evaluation for MQTT brokers are shown. Besides, we introduce technical trends related to MQTT and our research that primarily focuses on load distribution for brokers.
