Abstract(in English) This paper describes fiber optic sensor IoT system which collaborates LPWA(Low-Power-Wide-Area) and hetero-core optical fiber sensing. The hetero-core optical fiber sensor has some excellent features including immunity to electromagnetic interference, tolerance to temperature and chemical corrosions. In addition, it can detect macrobending on a hetero-core sensory portion by a change in transmitted light intensity which is measured by an LED/PD measurement instrument. For their power-saving measurement scheme, we developed a prototype of an optical measurement controller housing a Sigfox wireless communication module and an LED/PD instrument, which operates on a built-in battery. For demonstrating the proposed sensor system, thermal expansion on an aluminum block was remotely monitored by a hetero-core fiber optic strain gauge for one week.
