Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In noisy acoustic environment, improving the speech intelligibility of hearing-impaired subjects is still a major research topic. Impact noise is a kind of noise whose occurrence timing is unknown and changes its amplitude steeply. In this paper, the Multi-channel Wiener Filter (MWF) for impact noise reduction for cochlear implants is studied. The MWF system can preserve the acoustic information of the speech because using the channel correlation matrix. In noise correlation matrix estimation, the noise power of reference microphone is occasionally negative. In this case, the MWF noise reduction provides poor performance. We propose the MWF for impact noise reduction system considering sign of estimated noise power to improve the noise reduction performance. From the result of computer simulation, the proposed system preserved the acoustic information of speech and delivered a high noise reduction performance.
