Optical Time/Frequency Domain Reflectometry for Continuous Time-Domain Measurement of Rayleigh Backscattered Light

Abstract(in English) It is not possible to measure high speed frequency fluctuations that occur in the optical transmission line because conventional backscattered light measurement technology use pulses with a constant time interval. Therefore, we have proposed a continuous time domain measurement method of optical fiber backscattered light, which combines time and frequency domain reflectometry techniques to measure the frequency component of the vibration applied to the optical fiber. In this paper, we report the results of further development of this technology and successful continuous time domain measurement of backscattered light phase at an arbitrary point in an optical fiber under vibration.
